End-to-End Multi-Service Lan Solutions - a Myth?

Huge VoIP and LAN equipment vendors claim they can provide their customers with the end-to-end solutions and they don’t need any third parties to make VoIP phone calls, transmit data etc. Industry insiders think this is a total myth.
The fact is even huge vendors like Cisco are unable to control the quality of the VoIP connection, as they are responsible only for the equipment aspect of the issue. This way or another, the lines owned by some other vendors are used and if you have problems calling you European office from the USA using the multi-service LAN solution from Cisco, you will hardly get any help from Cisco itself. They simply have nothing to do with that!
Industry analysts say that big equipment vendors tell their corporate clients that they only need to buy a multi-service solution which is secure, stable and safe from them and that’s all. Claiming they operate as a service provider as well. But mostly often this is total bullshit as most of the huge vendors use third party suppliers to provide their clients with connection.
Clients should be able to choose themselves. There are quite a lot great communication service provider all around the globe. You may buy equipment from Cisco, but pick up another company as a VoIP service vendor. And that may be a way smarter, than buying the whole bunch from Cisco alone.
