AT&T Inc. today announced that AT&T will provide and manage telecommunications and networking services for The McGraw-Hill Companies, extending a 10-year relationship. The agreement is designed to improve collaboration and to increase operating efficiencies across The McGraw-Hill Companies’ approximately 150 North American locations, supporting approximately 6,000 remote users. Specific terms of the contract were not disclosed.
AT&T’s enhanced virtual private network will streamline The McGraw-Hill Companies’ voice and data operations and multimedia applications. The network leverages AT&T Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology that prioritizes network traffic to ensure quality voice calls, uninterrupted communications and business continuity. The AT&T network is also flexible enough to allow for The McGraw-Hill Companies’ continued growth and increasing Internet requirements.
“The McGraw-Hill Companies’ global resource-management initiative is key to improving the performance and efficiency of our businesses,” said Bruce Marcus, executive vice president and chief information officer of The McGraw- Hill Companies. “Through our agreement with AT&T, we are leveraging our telecommunications network to increase the system’s capacity and functionality at a reduced cost.”
“We are pleased to strengthen our long-standing relationship with The McGraw-Hill Companies, and we are committed to meeting McGraw-Hill’s evolving telecommunications needs,” said Ronald Spears, president-AT&T Business Sales. “By migrating to AT&T’s leading, state-of-the-art MPLS platform, The McGraw- Hill Companies is benefiting from increased bandwidth, improved network functionality and significant cost-savings.”
